The joy of living in Washington, D.C. is seeing the sites at different times of day and in all kinds of light. Shortly after Lauri Hafvenstein joined a group of fellow photographers intent on shooting the Washington Monument at dusk, a heavy bank of fogged rolled in, shrouding the obelisk in a soft and etherial light. This image was captured only minutes after the others had packed up their cameras and headed home.
