Vintage Inspiration for a Problem-Plagued Kitchen
The owners of this circa 1889-Victorian style home in the historic West End of Rockville, Maryland needed help tackling a major kitchen renovation full of obstacles. Their existing kitchen -- last updated in the 1970s -- had common storage and space challenges, plus a host of bigger "old house" problems: exposed lath and plaster walls, no insulation, a space-stealing 6-foot radiator, a poorly-placed stairwell, and a complete lack of access or sight lines to the backyard and garden. Old House Loves' redesign and product sourcing completely transformed the space into an inspiring, beautiful, light-filled space with the charm of a vintage kitchen and the functionality of a modern space.
